![]() ![]() ![]() Introduction & Basic Philosophy
![]() ![]() Self esteem and a sense of freedom in the individual forms the heart of site H's philosophy.
Without this all is lost, since individual weakness leads to a lack of self-confidence and the evils associated with it, for example drug/alcohol abuse, unsafe sexual promiscuity, or more generally leading a life one doesn't want to lead. It is clear that Individualism in some form must be the key to the happiness of all, since the mass ideologies of the Twentieth Century failed to bring the people what they really desired, deep inside.
The relationship between the fitness of the individual and global society is a fascinating one that often gets neglected. Unhappiness can come in many forms. Much of it is sub-conscious, and this should be acknowledged and the remedies acted upon. Freedom can either be of the real variety, for example the decision to set up one's own business to realise financial freedom, or it can be psychological in the form of imagination or a place within yourself to rest or escape - which is afterall, the motive force behind all real freedom. It is also called inspiration.
As a thinking person who has studied politics, psychology and world problems up to the doctorate level, I cordially invite you to participate in this site. All views are welcome, and I am not educationally or otherwise biased. In fact, I am the first person in my family for centuries who has attained any educational qualification! It is for reasons like this (for example the fact that some uneducated people can be more intelligent than those holding qualifications), that drives me to the basic attractiveness of Anarchy as the ultimate in Utopian Individualism.
However, I am also a Pragmatist, in that it seems the world is entrenched in previously established ideas and infrastructures, and will not - and perhaps cannot - change in any forseeable time-frame. One can, on some level, accept this, since upheaval or violence for the sake of change can arguably only be acceptable in an absolute emergency - such as a natural disaster or war. In an age of push-button warfare, brief-case atom bombs, and inter-connected economies we must be especially vigilant against the upheaval created by "Gung-Ho" politics - which strangely enough depends on an unhealthy marriage of both ideosyncratic and systemic features.
As a result, site H stands by a scientific-based functionalist system of gradual improvement that operates in everyday life. It is a basic philosophy which emphasizes strength through contact with our humanity, advocates the striving of the individual to be the best one can be, that advocates happiness through one's chosen bliss, that rejects restrictive biases, conformity, oppressive government, violent revolution, and most definitely organised warfare.
